VICTORIA Y LIDERATO PARA `PURITO´
EL ESPAÑOL GANÓ EN ASSISI CON UN ATAQUE FINAL

Este 15 de Mayo acaba de ser disputada la décima etapa del Giro d´ Italia que salía de Civitavecchia para acabar en alto, en Asssi sobre un recorrido de 186 km. Esta etapa tenía un perfil claramente de media montaña con varios repechos, entre ellos uno a 46 km de meta dóde se podría intentar algo y las rampas finales en Assisi.

Le etapa comenzó con un grupo de escapados compuesto por Miguel Minguez (Euskaltel), Martijn Keizer (VacanSoleil), Guillaume Bonnafond (Ag2r), Francesco Failli (Farnese) y Matthias Brandle (NetApp) que fueron cogidos por Stef Clement (Rabobank) que atacó en el puerto a 46 km de meta y después se puso a tirar como un poseso en cabeza de carrera hasta el punto que la escapada no fue cogida hasta el comienzo de la subida a Assisi. Los favoritos mantuvieron la posición en la primera parte de la subida, pero en el descanso en mitad de la subida atacaron Rigoberto Uran Uran (Sky) y John Gadret (Ag2r) que fueron cogidos en la parte final en la que Joaquim Rodríguez, posterior ganador de la etapa sacó unos metros respecto al resto de favoritos y luego se puso en cabeza un Robobank, `Purito´ midió muy bien las distancia y atacó en solitario espectacularmente en los últimos metros de la estrechísima empinada y adoquinada cuesta de Assisi. Al final el español de Katusha metió 6 segundos al resto de favoritos más la bonificación por victoria menos a Frank Schleck que perdió 27 segundos más bonificación.

La siguiente etapa se disputará el 16 de Mayo y será la más larga del Giro con 258 km entre Assisi y Montecatini Terme.

THE SPANISH WON IN ASSISI WITH A FINAL ATTACK
This 15 may just be challenged the 10th stage of the Giro d´ Italy rising from Civitavecchia to finish high in Asssi on a distance of 186 km. This stage had a profile clearly mountainous with several ledges, among them one to 46 km from target dóde could try something and end ramps in Assisi.
