VICTORIA DE VENTOSO Y UNA CAÍDA MÁS
`PURITO´ LO INTENTÓ PERO NO FUE POSIBLE
Ha finalizado la novena etapa del Giro d´ Italia 2012 que salía de San Giorgio de Sannio y terminaba en Frosinone con una distancia de 166 km en un perfil llano con algunos repechos. El ganador de hoy ha sido el cántabro Francisco Ventoso que venció al sprint en un final caótico en el que volvió a haber caída en la parte delantera del pelotón.

La escapada del día fue protagonizada por tres hombres, los holandeses Martijn Keizer y Brian Bulgac y el ciclista de Euskaltel, Pierre Cazaux. A estos dos últimos el pelotón les dió caza a falta de 20 km mientras que Keizer fue cogido a tan solo 10 km de meta. En el repecho a 6 km de meta lo intentaron varios ciclistas entre ellos Joaquim Rodríguez que tuvo que ceder ante un pelotón muy fuerte que le dió caza.


Al final se llegó al sprint masivo con Fran Ventoso, que posteriormente ganaría la etapa y Mark Cavendish por detrás intentando ganar posiciones mientras el GreenEdge dominaba y le estaba sirviendo en bandeja la victoria de etapa a Matthew Goss que solo tendría que pelear con Filippo Pozzato para entrar en primera posición, pero el italiano hizo una maniobra brusca y Goss se abrió mucho en la última curva, ambos se chocaron y producieron una caída en dicho giro. Gracias a ese choque, Cavendish, que venía ganando posiciones por detrás fue afectado por la caída multitudinaria y no pudo hacer nada para mantenerse en pie pero Fran Ventoso salvó la caída y adelantó en los últimos metros al resto de candidatos a la victoria.

The winner of today has been Spaniard Francisco Ventoso, who won the Sprint in a chaotic finale in which again fall in the front of the peloton.
